Tavern Generator
An inn the party will name-drop for the rest of the campaign: who runs it, what to order, what is wrong this week, and what is under the floor.

At the table
An inn is where the plot finds your players.
Taverns are where a session slows down and the table starts talking to each other. Give the place one strong smell, one strong opinion and one thing that is not right, and the players will do the rest for you.
Lead with the atmosphere
Describe the room before anybody in it. The atmosphere line tells your players how loudly they can speak, which is really a question about what kind of scene this is going to be.
The problem is the hook
The current problem gives the proprietor a reason to talk to strangers. You do not need a notice board when the person pouring the drinks already needs something.
Spend the rumour carefully
One rumour per visit. Decide in advance whether it is true, half true or deliberately planted, and write that down, because you will not remember.
Never reveal the hidden feature
Leave it alone until a player does something that would find it. It is the reward for curiosity, not a detail in your description.
About the tables
Every entry is original and written to stay system-friendly, so nothing needs converting. There are no statistics here: assign those the way your own game does. The generator runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you forge is stored or sent anywhere.
