The short version
This site does not track you. There is no analytics script, no advertising network, no cookie banner and no account system, because none of those things are in use.
The generators
The NPC, encounter and tavern generators run entirely in your browser. The random tables are downloaded with the page and the results are produced on your own device. Nothing you forge is transmitted to this site or stored anywhere by it.
Cookies and local storage
EncounterSmith sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser’s local storage. The only data held in your browser while you use a generator is the current result, which disappears when you close or reload the page.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like any web host, that provider may keep short-lived technical logs of requests, which can include IP addresses, for security and reliability. EncounterSmith does not read, analyse or retain those logs for any other purpose.
No email provider is connected to this site yet, so the sign-up forms are inactive and no addresses are being collected. If you write to us directly, we keep your message and your address only for as long as it takes to reply and to honour whatever you asked for.
Third parties
Fonts are bundled with the site and served from this domain, so no request goes to a font service while you browse. No third-party scripts are loaded. If a link takes you elsewhere, that site’s own practices apply from that point.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because the site holds almost nothing, that is usually a quick answer. Write to hello@encountersmith.com.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes with it and the new version is published here.
